Haven
As a slow approach toward an aqueous mirage, this work emanates like the promise of water in an arid expanse. Errant blooms appear in an unlikely landscape, hinting satisfaction to the thirsty and shelter to the exhausted, while masking portents of doom. What appears as salvation is instead a lonely, self-sustaining entity, an unwelcoming Eden that consumes out of necessity, drawing travelers inward with the cruel intimacy of comfort and the fatal generosity of rest.

Atheer Soot
Helsinki, Finland
Atheer Soot is the artist pseudonym of Moe Mustafa, a Jordanian-Palestinian sound and theater artist based in Helsinki. Atheer Soot is an Arabic phrase meaning “that which resonates into outer space.” The name reflects Moe’s way of being: a floating body without anchor or ground, where sound becomes a tool to explore diaspora, reimagined memory, and the notion of home.
