The Fall 2026 residency cycle brings together six artists for three new collaborations, each culminating in a live performance later this year.

This residency brings together two artists whose work begins with attentive listening to the world around them. MAYSUN transforms physical spaces into responsive instruments through modular systems and custom electronics, while Liis Ring blends voice, field recordings, acoustic instruments, and improvisation into intimate, atmospheric compositions.

MAYSUN

Etienne Mason is a composer and sound artist whose work explores the relationship between sound, space, and listening. Working under the name MAYSUN, he creates immersive, site-responsive environments using modular systems, custom electronics, and distributed audio processing.

Liis Ring

Liis Ring is a musician, sound artist, photographer, and bird watcher whose music blends field recordings with improvised material, voice, and acoustic instruments. Her work inhabits a space between ambient music, song, and environmental observation, creating delicate compositions rooted in attentive listening.

Julie Herndon & Paige Alice Naylor

Julie Herndon and Paige Alice Naylor each explore the relationship between sound, technology, and embodied experience, though through distinct artistic languages. Julie’s work often investigates the intersection of body, instrument, electronics, and environment, while Paige centers voice, tape, repetition, and transformation.

Julie Herndon

Julie Herndon is a composer, performer, and sound artist whose work moves fluidly between acoustic instruments, electronics, and interdisciplinary performance. Through close collaboration and an interest in musical and social ecologies, she creates intimate, unpredictable sonic environments. She is currently Assistant Professor of Music Technology and Composition at Cal Poly.

Paige Alice Naylor

Paige Alice Naylor is an experimental vocalist, sound artist, technologist, and educator whose work investigates time, language, and transformation through sound. Using processed voice, tape loops, field recordings, handmade electronics, and multichannel environments, she creates immersive performances and installations.

Gabriela Gordillo & Miska Lamberg

This residency brings together two artists who approach listening as both a creative practice and a way of understanding the world. Gabriela Gordillo explores time perception through sound, participation, and improvisation, while Miska Lamberg works with field recordings and found sound, assembling existing fragments into new contexts through a restrained, collage-like approach.

Gabriela Gordillo

Gabriela Gordillo is a media artist working across sound, performance, and participatory practice. Her work has been presented internationally at Ars Electronica, Transitio_MX, London Design Week, and TADAEX, and she is an active organizer within the experimental sound community through projects including Sound Campus, AMRO Festival Nightline, and bb15.

Miska Lamberg

Miska Lamberg is a Helsinki-based sound artist and musician whose work centers on field recordings and found sound. Their releases have appeared on labels including Sawyer Spaces, Dragon’s Eye Recordings, Falt, and PRESQUE TOUT, alongside performances and exhibitions across Finland and internationally.
